Night VFR

The Night Visual Flight Rating (NVFR) allows pilots to extend their flying beyond daylight hours and arrive at a suitably equipped airport after dark, provided conditions remain visual.

While it is legal to depart late at night or early in the morning into areas with little to no ground lighting, this is not recommended. For flights in or to remote areas, an Instrument Rating is the preferred qualification.
